Create Layouts for a Fitness Magazine InDesign
We’ll take you through the process inchmeal, step by step, so this tutorial is appropriate for beginners and magazine Designers to InDesign. Let’s Begin!
1. Make a Fitness magazine cover
First of all. Open up InDesign and select New Document from the Welcome window or go to File > New > Document. In the New Document window, keep Intent as Print. Set the No. of Pages to 3. Keep Facing Pages checked. For example, I’ve put 1 page.
Before you can set the No. of pages to 3 or Click on Create a new page and make more pages. Like this, we can keep making another magazine page.
You will notice that the first page of your document begins on a right-hand single page. However, we want to create the layout for three two-page spreads. If you’re creating a whole magazine in one document, you can simply treat Page 1 as the first page of your whole magazine, e.g. a page for contents or perhaps for an advertisement.
And. Pick the Rectangle frame tool or Rectangle tool, and draw to the size of griding. Create a magazine cover using InDesign and Photoshop. And Type here Tittle, subtitle and the details about your magazine that you want to design. as you can in the figure below.
InDesign’s treatment of images is a bit different from Adobe’s other programs. While it can be difficult to adjust to at first, the program gives the designer a powerful set of tools that make it easy and flexible to work with type and imagery together in a layout.
And also. Transfer the cover inside Photoshop, and choose an Image for the magazine cover. Do you use a photo with background or without background?
In this case, I’ve written Fitness book. This is supposition! You can type any title for magazine cover design, Use from your own photo or other photos.
2. Get two pages side by side
Well. Go to Layout > Margins and columns, Set No. of columns to 3.
And. Pick the Rectangle frame tool, and draw texts and photo area, then write texts or just for practically fill with placeholder text, and replace the image.
You can start to feed in the text of your article into this text frame. If you don’t have any text yet, you can go to Type > Fill with Placeholder Text.
To the right of the toolbar there is an “A” for character formatting and “P” for paragraph formatting. Click P to get the tools for paragraph formatting, then look half way in the middle of the toolbar for a button with three columns. This allows you to create automated columns in your text box. I chose two columns, and left the margins at 1p0. Then, you can use the Selection tool to adjust the box size for columns and fit your text appropriately.
And also. Add a new title to the fitness page like shown below.
You can also pull out the first letter of the article in a Drop Cap, using the options available in the Character Formatting Controls panel. Set the Drop Cap Number of Lines to 3, and adjust the Font of the first character.
In addition. Create another text frame at the same dimension as the side that you created. While drawing frame press the right arrow key to make 2 text frame.
3. Get Dimension with texts and Images
And now. Come to the next page along with the first page. Remember these are A4 Pages. So, like before, go to layout > margins and columns, in this time put the No. of columns to 2. Pick the Rectangle frame tool and draw as the columns as shown, and press down arrow key three times to make 3 frames for the images.
After that and click on one of this three frame, then go to File > Place. And also repeat this action for the other frames. Supposal, These are the Dancer girls Images.
In InDesign, the image and frame of the image can be edited separately. This gives you tons of flexibility when it comes to cropping images to fit your layout in the exact way you want.
The toolbar at the top of the image will display several ways to adjust the size of the image based on the frame:
And. Introduce about the first image as shown or called a paragraph. Nevertheless, add three text frame properly, and add text, then align them with the center. And adjust the color of the frame, you can choose and apply any color, then edit the size of the rectangles.
Finally. Type small title, whatever you would like. And add the paragraph.
To get here, hit File > Export (Ctrl/Cmd + E). In exporting a design, I keep it pretty simple, just making sure that I’m exporting the image as a high-quality PDF and making sure that it’s exported as a spread and not just a page. do this by making sure the “Spreads” button under the heading “Pages” is clicked. You can also determine whether or not you are exporting the Marks and Bleeds, by heading to the “Marks and Bleeds” section on the side of the menu, and selecting which you want to be included or excluded.
4. Export Your Magazine to Print
