The next major Android update is finally here with Android 8.0, aka Android O “Oreo”. There are a ton of changes and new features with this version of Android. Everything from changes to notifications, to AI smart text selection, even Picture in Picture. Android Oreo is currently rolling out via OTA update to Pixel and Nexus phones, but we’re not sure when it will be available for other smartphone manufacturers.
To Install Android Oreo on PC or virtual Box you need to downnlaod two setups on your PC:
Download: Android 8.0 ISO x86
Download: Oracle VirtualBox
- After downloading (VirtualBox) & (Android Oreo 8.0), you need to install virtualBox into your windows PC. Once you have done follow these steps.
How to Create a Virtual Machine for Android
#1. Open VirtualBox from you PC to install android Oreo, click new.
#2. To Create New Virtual Machine for android ore:
- Name for your Virtual Machine, Choose type: Linux and Choose (Other Linux 32 or 64bit).
- Assign The Memory Size 1 GB or 2 GB.
- Select (Create A Virtual Hard Disk Now) and click on Create.
#3. Choose whatever size will work best for your system. I’m leaving this at 8GB. Select VDI and Select Fixed Size and then Click “Create”.
#4. Click on Settings > click on storage and click on the empty optical drive and click on the little disk on top right left and browse to select the android file you downloaded. Click Ok.
Just like that, your new virtual machine is ready to use.
How to Install Android Oreo in a Virtual Machine
In this step by step tips, i have shown How to install Android 8.0 Oreo on Virtual Box and tried to explain in an easy way.
#1. Start the Virtual Machine, click on Start.
#2. Once the virtual machine loads ISO, use the keyboard to scroll down to “Install” and press enter. This will start the android installer.
#3. Choose “Create/Modify partitions”. On the GPT screen just select “No”.
#4. On the disk utility screen, select new and press enter.
#5. Create a Primary disk and allow it to use the entire virtual hard disk space you chose earlier. In this case, it’s 8 GB. This should be selected by default.
#6. Choose “Write.” Tap Enter.
#7. You will need to type “yes” and tap Enter on the following screen to verify you want to write the partition table to the disk.
#8. Once it’s finished, select the Quit option and press Enter.
#9. Select the partition you just created to install Android on and press Enter.
#10. Select “ext4” to format the partition.
#11. Select Yes and press enter on the next screen to verify.
#13. Select “Yes” to make the /system folder re-writable.
#14. Once everything is finished, you can choose to reboot into Android or reset. Feel free to do either thing right here, but don’t forget to unmount the ISO file first. Otherwise it’ll just boot right back into the installer!
Using Android Oreo in VirtualBox
So yeah, just sign in and finish the set up. you’ve it on your VirtualBox like this. You’re ready to play!
